The Binghamton Fire Department's 2026 Recruit Class received training in fireground hydraulics and pump operations on April 30.

In order to assist fireground operations, recruits trained setting up water supplies, calculating appropriate pressures, and running fire equipment pumps. Hydrant operations and flowing handlines were also covered in the training. According to officials, these abilities are crucial for providing the appropriate volume of water at the appropriate pressure during emergency situations.
