Berkeley Heights Handles 43 Calls in One Month

Over the past month, the Berkeley Heights Fire Department has responded to forty-three fires and emergencies, including a mutual aid structure fire with the Warren Fire Department, a vehicle fire on Cummings Way, a carbon monoxide emergency at The Highlands, and a brush fire on Cedar Green Lane.


Additionally, members participated in practical exercises at an acquired building on Cambridge Drive that was slated for demolition as well as Engine Company Operations at the Middlesex County Fire Academy. Firefighters rehearsed search operations, ventilation, hose line progression, and forced entry.


The department's Training Division, according to officials, concentrates on practical training related to evolving fire situations and building construction. The agency expressed gratitude to OES Properties for providing the training framework.
