This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 21st, members of the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Company finished the department's fire rescue pontoon boat.

The boat was equipped with a davit crane lift that was intended to use a rescue basket to extract injured victims from the water. Additionally, it has radio communications technology, LED lighting for nighttime operations, a fixed master stream nozzle installed on the bow, and a 500-gallon-per-minute pump for shoreline and boat fire suppression.

The device can move medical patients to specific staging sites for treatment and hospital transportation, according to officials. For the duration of the season, the rescue boat will be based on Canada Lake.
