Basking Ridge EMT Marks 20 Years of Service

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On May 7, EMT Jon received recognition from Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 and EMS for his 20 years of volunteer work and thousands of emergency calls.

Jon became a New Jersey EMT in 2006 while working locally and began serving as a daytime responder. Officials claimed that despite not being a resident of Basking Ridge, he often treated the neighborhood as his own and developed into a trustworthy call center.

A longtime mountain climber with experience in wilderness rescue, Jon continued volunteering regular 12-hour shifts over the years. Additionally, he had a number of leadership roles, such as EMS Captain and EMS Lieutenant.
