Broome, NY - Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 partnered with the Haverstraw Fire Department to provide local high school students from the North Rockland Youth Police Academy with an immersive introduction to the fire service.

Students participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including operating fire hydrants, climbing ladders, and taking part in a simulated response to a building fire.

The interactive training gave participants a realistic look at the skills, teamwork, and dedication required of firefighters.

The event highlighted the importance of community outreach and mentorship, offering students a meaningful opportunity to learn about emergency services while inspiring interest in future roles as first responders.
