Mashantucket Chief Chaney Retires

On Friday, May 2nd, the Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department celebrated the retirement of Chief Floyd Chaney. Chief Chaney served multiple agencies throughout his 51 years of dedicated service, including the Montville, Mohegan Tribal, and Mashantucket departments. His final post before retirement was a seven-year tenure as Chief of Mashantucket. During his time as chief, he oversaw the complete replacement of the department’s apparatus. Family and friends gathered for a luncheon at the Mashantucket station. Local 4746 honored Chief Chaney with a sign-off and send-off. Following the ceremony, Chief Chaney walked out under the American flag for the final time.
