Vassalboro, ME - Members of the Vassalboro Fire Department gathered for an extensive wildland fire training session designed to strengthen operational readiness and sharpen critical brush fire response skills.

Throughout the training, firefighters worked through multiple realistic scenarios covering fire behavior, exposure protection, establishing fire lines, wind-driven fire conditions, UTV operations, portable pump deployment, and other essential wildland firefighting tactics.

The hands-on exercises provided crews with valuable experience in managing rapidly changing fire conditions often encountered during brush and forest fire incidents.

Department officials praised the strong participation and teamwork shown during the training, emphasizing the importance of continuous preparation as wildfire risks increase during dry and windy conditions.
