Thomaston, ME - Members of the Thomaston Fire Department took advantage of favorable weather conditions to conduct valuable hands-on training focused on improving fireground efficiency and operational readiness.

Firefighters spent the session working extensively with Ladder 2, practicing multiple apparatus setups and refining placement, deployment, and operational techniques that are essential during fast-moving emergencies where every second matters.

At the same time, ambulance personnel reviewed engine pumping procedures and trained on basic pump operations to strengthen their understanding of water supply management and overall fireground support functions.

Department officials noted that effective training does not always need to be formally scheduled, emphasizing that crews continuously seek opportunities to improve their skills, teamwork, and preparedness for real-world incidents.
