This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Bergen, NY — April 27th — A training exercise on pre-incident planning and water supply operations at strategic areas was carried out by the Bergen Fire Department. Crews started at the Gillam Grant Community Center, where participants stretched a hand line to assess reach and flow, did a walk-through, and set up a hydrant supply. Assessing operating limits and preparing for possible incidents involving the building and surrounding exposures were made easier by the drill.

After that, units went to the town garage to talk about reaction tactics and go over the layout. Such pre-planning promotes safer and more effective operations in times of emergency. Strong involvement demonstrated continued preparedness and dedication to the community.
