Albany, NY - Firefighters took part in a comprehensive vehicle extrication drill, sharpening critical skills used during serious motor vehicle incidents.

Crews worked across two different vehicles, gaining hands-on experience with a full range of hydraulic and manual extrication tools.

Training focused on techniques such as stabilizing vehicles, removing doors, displacing dashboards, and creating access points to safely reach and remove trapped occupants.

The evolution allowed members to practice coordination, communication, and tool operation under realistic conditions, reinforcing the importance of precision and teamwork during high-stress rescue scenarios.

The department also extended appreciation to AC’s Towing & Recovery for providing the vehicles and training space, helping make the drill both effective and realistic.
