Proud River Edge Fire Department is a department with the strong commitment by the membership to be at its best for the communities served.

Assistant Chief Robert Schlossberg, who also serves as Department Training Officer, works closely with Chief David Stucke and Chief Gregg Cariddi, as well as department officers and senior membership, to provide the very best in training in addition to some weekly Sunday morning training, the monthly company training as well as the monthly department training. River Edge is including "from time to time" the added training that also involves other towns in Bergen County, where River Edge can and will be working with departments outside of Oradell and New Milford.

Tuesday, May 2nd, as part of "Buildings of Concern" training in our town, the Senior Residence at St. Peter the Apostle was the training site. Stations included a detailed tour of the Senior Residence, that included important information for firefighters, including those that would require extra assistance in case of an emergency.

In addition to the tour that included almost 100 firefighters from Bergen County Fire Companies in attendance,  towns and agencies participating with River Edge included River Edge Ambulance, River Edge Office of Emergency Management, Oradell, New Milford, Paramus, Maywood and Emerson Fire Departments.

In an effort to keep everyone busy while smaller detailed tours took place, the added stations on exterior were rotated, stations that included; the apparatus placement, staging and why, Ground ladder placement(s), RIC team, and the the importance of Command and operating at Command properly, Bergen County MAC was also on scene to assist and explain the assistance that can be offered and this was most appreciated.

An aggressive start for River Edge Fire Department in 2023 with training, much future training scheduled as well, as stated at proud River Edge Fire Department.
