South Park, PA - Firefighters recently joined fellow students to complete a Wildland Forestry Team Certification program, strengthening their capabilities in handling brush and woodland fire incidents.

Participants trained through multiple realistic scenarios, including a simulated large-scale woods fire that required crews to construct an extended fire line, as well as operations focused on protecting nearby structures using portable water supply systems.

Crews deployed high-pressure pumps and utilized water sources such as streams to support suppression efforts.

The training also covered saw operations and the use of specialized ignition equipment, providing firefighters with a well-rounded skill set for wildland fire response.

The hands-on certification highlights the importance of preparation and coordination when operating in challenging outdoor fire environments.
