FLFD Companies Sharpen Interior Fire Attack Skills

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Fair Lawn, NJ - Fair Lawn Fire Department crews from Company 2 and Company 4 recently took part in a hands-on fire attack drill as part of ongoing Training Tuesday activities.

Conducted at the department’s Fire Training Center, the evolution focused on advancing charged hoselines into a training structure.

Firefighters stretched attack lines weighing roughly 200 pounds when filled with water, navigating tight corners and stairways under realistic conditions.

The physically demanding drill reinforced coordination, strength, and technique—key elements required during interior fire operations.

Training like this reflects the challenges crews routinely face at residential structure fires, ensuring members remain prepared for the intensity and complexity of real-world incidents.
