Arcade, NY — April 16th — With the addition of social members who assist operations without reacting to crises, the Arcade Fire Department, located at 145 North St., continues to grow its membership model. The structure is in line with how many volunteer departments handle facility and administrative requirements. As the first social member, Karsen Baker Nunn was welcomed and recently started working on station upgrades, such as maintaining spaces near overhead doors and repainting apparatus floor lines.
According to officials, by enabling active members to concentrate on training, equipment inspections, and reaction responsibilities, these initiatives improve everyday readiness. Additionally, social members help with reports, cleaning, public outreach, and fundraising. According to department personnel, keeping a tidy station and well-organized equipment area promotes operating effectiveness and shows overall department preparedness.
