Laureldale Crews Conduct Driver Training Drill

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

— April 29th — On Wednesday night, Laureldale Fire Rescue personnel practiced operating equipment and instructing drivers.

Crews practiced vehicle control and maneuvering in a variety of situations while operating Utility 18-34, Engine 18-33, Tanker 18-38, and Tanker 18-39. Because operating large emergency vehicles safely requires ability, awareness, and constant practice, driver training is still an essential part of fire service operations.

Reducing risk to responders and the general public, practicing safe response procedures, and negotiating congested roadways and crossings were all part of the exercises.
