WAREHAM, MA — April 25th — Boston MedFlight and the Wareham Fire Department worked together to evaluate a new helicopter landing zone.

Southcoast Health, Wareham Emergency Management, Wareham EMS Local 2895, Wareham Municipal Maintenance, and the Wareham Police Department worked together to create the landing zone as a backup for Tobey Hospital. During the project, the fire department was represented by Assistant Chief Haskell and Firefighter Harrigan, both of whom had experience in aviation.

In order to ensure preparedness for air medical operations in the event that key landing places are unavailable, the test showed collaboration between public safety and healthcare partners.
