Binghamton, NY - The Binghamton Fire Department’s 2026 Recruit Class focused on developing essential skills in pump operations and fireground hydraulics, a critical component of effective firefighting.

Training included operating apparatus pumps, establishing reliable water supplies, and calculating proper pressures to ensure handlines deliver adequate flow on the fireground.

From hydrant operations to managing water flow, recruits strengthened their understanding of how to provide the right amount of water at the right pressure—enhancing both efficiency and safety during emergency responses.
