Ferrisburgh, VT - Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department members participated in a comprehensive training night covering multiple disciplines and equipment operations.
Fire 1 students focused on search and rescue techniques under the guidance of department instructors and a guest instructor from Essex Fire Department, reinforcing essential skills for interior operations.
At the same time, additional members trained on pump operations while gaining valuable hands-on experience with the department’s newer Engine 2.
Crews also trained with a newly donated Dolphin pump, a floating suction device that allows water supply operations in areas inaccessible to traditional apparatus.
he department expressed appreciation to the Long Point Association for the contribution, which enhances rural and remote response capabilities.
In addition, members introduced a new utility trailer to replace the previous rehab unit. The trailer is designed to support a wide range of operations, including wildland firefighting, spill response, ice water rescue, and firefighter rehabilitation, with plans to integrate a utility ATV as part of the department’s growing resources.
