THETFORD CENTER, VT. — June 3rd — At a structure fire that needed a coordinated regional response, the Thetford Volunteer Fire Department responded to help mutual assistance partners. As soon as they arrived, firefighters commenced suppression efforts after discovering a tiny residential building that was severely involved in the fire. In order to set up a water supply, install handlines, and safeguard adjacent exposures, crews collaborated with local departments.

Responding agencies had to work closely together to handle the disaster, which highlights how crucial mutual aid is in rural areas. For several hours, firefighters stayed on the scene to do overhaul and suppression operations. No injuries were reported right away. Fire officials are still looking into what caused the fire.
