This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Mondays are for trainings and for keeping our skills sharp. On Monday, Marcg 24th, Perkiomen Township volunteers held a joint training with our partners at Upper Frederick Fire Company Station 87 with multiple hands-on hose advancement scenarios plus search and rescue evolutions in simulated smoke at Skippack Fire Company’s Training Facility.

It’s extremely helpful to train in realistic environments with smoke to simulate real emergencies. The ability to observe, react, adapt, communicate and overcome are crucial.

It’s also always valuable to train with our mutual aid partners.

Thanks to Lt Dan, Lt Chase, Lt Dylan and our Training Committee for arranging this exercise. Thanks also to Skippack Fire Company for the use of their facility.
