Mondays are for training and for keeping skills sharp. In April, Perkiomen Township Fire Company volunteers joined with Lower Frederick Fire Company Station 52 and Collegeville Fire Company Station 34 at a “to be demolished” house on PA Rt 113 (Bridge Rd) near the Perkiomen Trail’s Rahns Trailhead. The training focused on hose handling, fire attack, fireground operations, search patterns, ladder use, air pack (SCBA) use, teamwork, and communication. It’s always important to review and share best practices under realistic conditions. Constant and consistent training, discussion, plus going through some practical scenarios keep all of us ready to respond.
