East Brookfield Recognizes Dispatcher Retirement

East Brookfield, MA — March 30th — Charlie McCoy's retirement was acknowledged by the East Brookfield Fire Department, 273 E Main Street, following 31 years of service as a 911 dispatcher with the Massachusetts State Police, previously Central Dispatch (C-8). Wales, Holland, Brimfield, West Brookfield, Brookfield, North Brookfield, East Brookfield, Petersham, Hardwick, and New Braintree were among the communities McCoy served.
He organized emergency responses, oversaw radio traffic, and assisted field units in both routine and high-call situations throughout his career. Dispatchers are essential to emergency operations because they maintain situational awareness across agencies and provide clear communication. McCoy was renowned for his reliable radio work and unwavering assistance to field teams. The department congratulated him on his retirement and praised his service.
