On April 17, at around 11:35 a.m., the West Stafford Fire Department was called to an automobile accident on Old Springfield Road.

Car 44 was the first to arrive and reported that a car had veered off the road, down an embankment, and into a tree. The 75-year-old male operator was experiencing what appeared to be a heart emergency but was not stuck.

Squad 144 helped with extrication and stabilized the car. The patient was flown to a Level 1 trauma center after Lifestar was called to Johnson Memorial Hospital on a modified landing zone.
