Charlton, MA — April 1st — Group 1 and Group 2 were dispatched to the District Training Facility in Auburn for live burn training by the Charlton Fire Department, Massachusetts, located at 10 Power Station Road. In order to train critical fireground abilities, the session put firefighters in controlled fire situations. Members concentrated on radio communication, hose stretches, air management, zero-visibility search methods, and Incident Command System operations.

Training adhered to NFPA guidelines for safe live fire drills. Beyond standard drills, regional training facilities offer realistic situations that facilitate skill development. Live burn training, according to fire officials, enhances crew coordination, safety, and decision-making. To stay prepared for responding to structural fires and other crises, the department continues to get regular training.
