Lebanon Officials Discuss Substation Plan at Capitol

LEBANON, CT — April 23rd — In order to discuss a proposed fire substation project, representatives of the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department Inc. met with state legislators in the Connecticut State Capitol.


The difficulties of serving a sizable community with a single firehouse were discussed with lawmakers by Chief Jay Schall and First Selectman Kathleen Smith. Tim Ackert, Mark DeCaprio, and Cathy Osten all expressed support for a bonding proposal to finance construction on the western side of town.


Additionally, meetings were made with Martin Looney and Bob Duff. The objective of increasing response coverage while reducing the impact on taxpayers was mentioned by officials.
