CASTLETON, VT — April 22nd — At Ellis Orchard, a controlled brush burn was carried out by Castleton Volunteer Fire Department members as a training exercise.
In order to remove a difficult-to-maintain hillside, the fire was planned with the local water district. Crews took advantage of the chance to practice brush fire techniques, such as line deployment, fire management, and condition monitoring.
