Revere Fire Thanks Dispatchers During Appreciation Week

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Revere Fire Department honored dispatchers at the Metro North Regional Emergency Communications Center.

As the initial point of contact for emergency calls, dispatchers collect vital information, allocate resources, and keep in touch with field units. They play a crucial role in coordinating law enforcement, EMS, and fire responses.

Communications centers serve several departments around the region, guaranteeing prompt and effective dispatching in both routine and major situations. Because of their position at the beginning of every call, telecommunicators are frequently referred to as the "first" first responders.
