Deferiet, NY — April 17th — During a practical firefighter bailout exercise, the Deferiet Fire Department, Inc., situated at 101 Riverside Drive, received training from the Carthage Fire Department. Crews rehearsed emergency self-rescue tactics, which are utilized when firefighters have to quickly evacuate a structure due to changing conditions. Controlled window exits, using bailout systems, and being alert in low-visibility situations were all covered in the training.
Firefighter survival programs, which are employed throughout the fire service, include bailout training to help crews get ready for emergency circumstances. Departments can collaborate and enhance cooperation through joint drills. Regular multi-agency training promotes safer and more efficient operations on the fireground, according to officials.
