This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Salem, NJ — April 16th — During a joint evening simulation, LAC Fire and Rescue (Station 18) and the Elsinboro Fire Company, located at 35 Delaware Avenue, received training. Crews concentrated on honing fundamental skills and enhancing departmental collaboration. Hands-on exercises that strengthened collaboration, communication, and apparatus operation were part of the training.

The mutual aid system that is in place throughout Salem County, when several agencies respond to the same occurrences, is reflected in joint training. Officers observed that frequent joint exercises aid in standardizing protocols and fostering crew familiarity. When departments collaborate on working incidents, this strategy promotes safer operations and more successful responses.
