BEAVER FALLS, PA — March 26th — Firefighter Jason Tyger was honored by the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department for his contributions and growth. In keeping with a family legacy of service, Tyger joined the Patterson Heights Volunteer Fire Department at the age of 14. In order to boost team operations, he brought SCUBA diving knowledge when he joined Beaver Falls in 2015 as a water rescue member.

He started working as a firefighter in 2016, got a part-time job in 2018, and later that year moved up to a full-time position. Since then, Tyger has obtained certifications as a Pennsylvania fire instructor and helps with department training, maintaining operational preparedness and skill development. Members that have both teaching and field experience continue to encourage uniform performance and readiness throughout the department.
