Butler, NJ — March 23rd — Every year, members of the Butler Fire Department finished their Right-to-Know/HazCom and Bloodborne Pathogens training. An instructor from the Morris County Public Safety Academy led the class, which was organized by the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company. Exposure control, the appropriate use of personal protective equipment, and the hazard communication guidelines necessary for emergency responders were all covered in the course. These subjects are updated annually to lower the risk of occurrences and adhere to OSHA regulations.

Additionally, the instructor gave a presentation on the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, detailing programs that promote line-of-duty mortality awareness, firefighter health, and safety. To ensure that members are equipped to work safely and effectively on all kinds of calls, annual compliance training is still a crucial component of operational readiness.
