Retired Manchester Fire Chief passes from Occupational Cancer

Manchester Fire Department regretfully announces the passing of former Fire Chief Andre Parent. Chief parent passed away on the morning of April 7th, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.


Chief Parent was born in Manchester, NH on February 19, 1964. He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and proudly served in the Marine Corps before starting his career in the fire service, which spanned 36 years; 2 years with Derry Fire and 34 years with Manchester Fire, where he retired as Fire Chief on September 1, 2022. Andy was also a proud member of the American Legion Post, volunteered at the Liberty House in Manchester, and served Manchester on various boards and committees. In addition, he served many roles within the Manchester Professional Firefighters Union, including Vice President where he was deeply respected for his leadership, dedication, and unwavering support of his fellow firefighters.
