Apshawa Fire Company Mourns Loss of Lou Rose Sr.

Lou Rose Sr., a former member of the Department Apshawa Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 who served the community in a variety of public safety capacities, passed away on April 4, 2026.
Rose was an EMT, firefighter, and police officer in addition to being an Army veteran. He served on the truck committee that assisted in the design of Engine 1 and held a number of posts throughout his seven years in the department, including President.
Members recalled his consistent presence in the organization and his eagerness to mentor junior firefighters. His multidisciplinary background made him an invaluable asset during operations and training.
The agency acknowledged his service and dedication to the community while sending their sympathies to his family.
