During Dispatch Appreciation Week on April 14, 2026, the Bayonne Fire Department joined municipal officials in honoring public safety dispatchers. The City of Bayonne emphasized the vital role dispatchers play as the initial point of contact during emergencies, coordinating responses for emergency management units, police, fire, and emergency medical services.
Dispatchers assist in ensuring that resources are allocated promptly and operations function well during emergencies throughout the city, according to officials. Their effort keeps locals, businesses, and tourists safe while assisting responders in the field.
