City Hall Ceremony Recognizes Fire Officers

LINDEN, NJ — March 19th — Three members of the Linden Fire Department were recognized at a promotional ceremony at City Hall after the City Council approved their recent appointments. Lieutenant Zachary Modrak, Captain Joseph L. Dooley, and Deputy Chief Carl Tattoli Jr. took the oath of office. Along with relatives and other firemen, Mayor Derek Armstead and council members were there.


The ceremony signified the next phase of each officer's career and came after recognition at a previous council meeting. Testing, reviews, and leadership development in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards are common components of promotions in the fire service. According to officials, the appointments enhance continued service to the Linden community and reinforce the department's command structure.
