Clark FD Completes Annual Hose Testing

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

CLARK, NJ — April 12th — As part of their yearly maintenance schedule, Clark Fire Department personnel tested the hose assigned to Truck 3 and Ladder 1 for four hours. Newer members received practical instruction during the program, including guidance on safety inspections and appropriate hose testing protocols. In order to inspect for wear, leaks, and general integrity under operational pressure, crews ran water through each section.

To guarantee that equipment operates safely and dependably during fireground activities, annual hose testing is necessary. The National Fire Protection Association's recommendations, which include for regular fire hose testing and inspection, are in line with the work. The department supported member training while lowering the cost of outside service by finishing a portion of the procedure internally.
