On April 11, the Auburn Fire Department announced that spring training had been held at the Cayuga County Training Facility for all four shifts.

Warmer weather allowed crews to practice fundamental fireground abilities, such as hose line progression, aerial apparatus use, pumping operations, and search strategies. According to officials, these exercises aid in maintaining competence in a variety of emergency situations.

VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search), a unique strategy utilized when a victim is reported in a particular room, was also covered in the training. The positioning of ladders, window entrance, room isolation, and focused searches were all practiced by firefighters.
