Specialized Extrication Training Prepares Crews for Complex Rescues

Mohegan Lake, NY - Members of Lake Mohegan Professional Firefighters Local 2956 participated in an in-house “Pinned and Burning” training program hosted by the Westchester County Fire Instructors.


The hands-on training focused on complex vehicle extrication scenarios, addressing modern vehicle construction and the challenges faced during high-stress rescue operations.


Crews practiced advanced techniques and problem-solving strategies aimed at improving efficiency and enhancing patient outcomes on scene.


Participants gained valuable skills and practical experience that will directly strengthen their response capabilities. The department also recognized the support of the Yorktown Highway Department for assisting with vehicle setup, helping make the training possible.
