Lindenhurst Hose Company Firefighters

At approximately 15:20 hours on April 17th, 2023 the Copiague Fire Department was alerted for an automatic fire alarm at 1800 Great Neck Road. First responding Chief Miller was advised that it was indicated 2nd-floor corridor. Engine 1-3-10 was the first responding engine, upon making entry a smoke condition was evident, and a working fire was transmitted authority of Chief of The Department Kyle Miller. One victim was pulled from the building and treatment was started, crews utilized the south side stairwell as the fire attack stairwell and the north side stairwell as the evacuation stairwell. Upon commands request multiple extra trucks were requested to the scene to help with evacuations/searches. The fire was contained to one apartment, after a quick knockdown. Truck companies performed extensive overhaul to check for extension. Mutual aid to the scene consisted of Amityville Fire Department for an engine (E1-1-2), North Lindenhurst Fire Department for a working truck (1-11-4), Lindenhurst Fire Department for a working truck (L1-6-4), North Amityville Fire Company for an Engine and an Ambulance (E1-7-1, A1-7-8) West Babylon Fire Department for a Rapid Intervention Team (L1-9-4), Massapequa Fire Department for a Rapid Intervention Team (L636). Units operated under Chief of The Copiague Fire Department Kyle Miller (1-3-30). The cause of the fire is under investigation. One patient was transported to a local trauma center.
