Brentwood, NH - Brentwood Fire & Rescue hosted a large-scale joint training with mutual aid partners, bringing together over 50 firefighters, EMS personnel, and fire explorers for an in-depth fire flow path simulation.
The training focused on how fire and smoke behave as airflow changes during firefighting operations, particularly when doors, windows, or roof vents are opened. Instructors demonstrated how these actions can rapidly alter fire conditions, causing fire to spread, change direction, or create dangerous events such as rollover and flashover.
Using controlled simulations, crews observed how smoke travels and what it reveals about fire conditions inside a structure. The hands-on exercise provided a clear, real-world understanding of fire dynamics, reinforcing the importance of coordinated ventilation and entry techniques on the fireground.
