FOSTER, RI — April 14th — Justin Baptista was named Firefighter of the Year by the South Foster Volunteer Fire Company.

Baptista is a new member, but she has already established herself as a reliable responder, frequently covering duty shifts and assisting with departmental operations. His completion of Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials Awareness training, as well as his ongoing involvement in exercises and other training opportunities, were recognized by officials.

His dependability, work ethic, and eagerness to serve were emphasized by department officials as important aspects of his commendation. Staffing and reaction readiness have already benefited from his initiatives.

Baptista received congratulations from the department, which also recognized his continued dedication to the fire service and the community.
