Stockton Springs Members Attend Basic Fire School

STOCKTON SPRINGS, ME — April 5th — Three members are enrolled in an 85-hour basic fire school to become inside firefighters, according to the Stockton Springs Fire Department. Core skills like search and rescue, ladder operations, SCBA use, fire behavior, and actual fire evolutions are included in the training program. In order to prepare firemen for interior structural operations, these courses adhere to established state and national requirements.


For smaller units, where employment is dependent on members completing certification programs, developing qualified interior firefighters is still crucial. Departments frequently collaborate with local educators to offer regular, practical instruction. After finishing, the personnel will be capable to working inside buildings in the event of a fire.
