Retired Chief Richie Massaro Honored for Service

WEST HAVEN, CT — March 14th — Richie Massaro, a retired fire chief from the Allingtown Fire Department, passed away, according to the West Shore Fire Department. For many years, Chief Massaro supported daily fireground operations and held important leadership positions while serving his department and the community. He was renowned for his unwavering command presence and dedication to educating and coaching upcoming firefighters. His work exemplified the fire service's primary duties, which include community response, incident management, and suppression.
His long-standing commitment and the influence he had on individuals he worked with throughout the years were noticed by members of the West Haven Fire Service. Both the department's internal operations and the larger mutual aid system were strengthened by his service. Members of Allingtown and the Massaro family received condolences.
