DEEP RIVER, CT — March 23rd — An open house was held by the Deep River Fire Department to provide locals with an up-close look at firefighting procedures and apparatus. Members answered inquiries, gave demonstrations, and led guests through practical exercises including putting on turnout gear and practicing basic hose handling.
The event's main goal was to educate the public so they could better understand how firemen respond to emergencies. Crews explained apparatus functions, safety procedures, and the role of training in daily operations.
