Joint Training Strengthens Mutual Aid Readiness in Pike County

BRANCHVILLE, NJ — April 12th — In Pike County, Pennsylvania, the Sandyston Township Fire Department Station 38 held multi-company training with an emphasis on fundamental fireground operations. Four members of Engine 38 traveled to the Pike County Training Center to receive training from Station 39 staff and the Westfall Township Fire Department. In order to emphasize collaboration and communication between companies, crews performed evolutions in primary search, forced entry, and initial fire attack.


Departments are able to function under realistic settings and maintain consistent tactics since training with mutual aid partners reflects standard area procedures. Practical exercises that enhance operational preparedness can be conducted in facilities such as the Pike County Training Center.
