Mashpee, MA- The Mashpee Fire Department recently trained at the Barnstable County Fire Academy using a car fire prop to evaluate the department’s electric vehicle nozzle.

The session focused on improving techniques for handling EV fires and assessing the tool’s performance.

Firefighters found the nozzle effective in reaching beneath vehicles for targeted application near the battery compartment. It also proved quick to deploy and efficient in water usage, allowing crews to maintain other suppression efforts without overloading resources.

The training reflects the department’s continued efforts to adapt to modern fire challenges and enhance operational readiness.
