Tenafly Fire Department
Photo by RON JEFFERSMembers and friends of the Tenafly Fire Department have formed a committee with a purpose of reviving communications and interest between the local volunteer fire service and the public, that has grown apart since COVID. The plan calls for an open house and apparatus muster, and to promote an interest for residents in volunteering to serve in their community. The event will be held at Fire Headquarters, 100 Riveredge Rd., on Saturday, June 8th, between Noon and 4 p.m. The rain date is June 15th. Plans call for a display of antique and new delivery fire apparatus from the area, a smoke house for fire prevention education, refreshments and other events. If interested in attending with an antique apparatus, new delivery rig, a display, etc., call 201-568-9269. The street in front of the firehouse will be closed for the event.
