Copake, NY — March 16th — The biannual CPR and AED refresher course for members of Copake Fire Company #1, located at 390 County Route 7A, Copake, NY, USA, 12516, reinforced the fundamental life-saving techniques utilized on emergency scenes. Dave Jensen, a former Copake firefighter and instructor, gave the training and covered patient assessment, effective CPR, and how to utilize an AED. Firefighters frequently respond before or with the Copake Community Rescue Squad, and the training complements the department's participation in medical responses.
When a cardiac emergency arises, the majority of Copake fire apparatus are outfitted with AEDs, enabling firefighters to start providing care right once. Frequent refresher training helps guarantee coordinated operations between fire and EMS personnel during time-sensitive emergencies and is in line with national regulations.
