JOHNSONBURG, PA — March 31st — Johnsonburg Fire Department, located at 99 Clarion Road in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, the new Pierce Urban Interface CAFS pumper is still being manufactured. In keeping with the department's coverage area, the equipment is made to support both structure and wildland fire responses. The unit will have a compressed air foam system (CAFS), which will help personnel control fires more quickly and with better water efficiency.

Features for off-road access are incorporated into the urban interface design to assist crews in operating in Elk County's typical rural and wooded areas. According to officials, the new engine will improve mutual aid, water supply, and initial attack capabilities. The pumper is anticipated to improve overall response capability and offer more flexibility for a variety of crises once it is delivered.
