Amherst, NH - Amherst Fire and EMS recently participated in a live burn training exercise in Merrimack alongside several mutual aid partners, providing crews with a valuable opportunity to operate in a realistic fireground environment.
Tanker 1 was utilized during the training, with Lieutenant Ben Vaughn and Firefighter Tyler Bartels representing the department. Crews worked through a series of hands-on evolutions, including ground ladder operations, rural water supply, and vertical ventilation, all aimed at enhancing efficiency and coordination on scene.
The training concluded with the controlled burning of the structure as part of the exercise. Amherst Fire and EMS expressed appreciation to Merrimack Fire Rescue for the invitation, as well as to Bedford, Milford, and Litchfield crews for their participation.
